I'm going to switch it up a bit and present the song/video for “Miscreant Deeds of Loki” by Blood of Angels.

Watch the video here before continuing.

The multiple award-winning heavy metal band Blood of Angels hail from Tampa, Florida and if you're an old fuck like me, you will remember Florida had quite a death metal scene in the 80s and 90s. Blood of Angels incorporate that beloved genre along with black metal and old school thrash metal for their own unique mixture of heavy metal goodness. With their debut EP Rise of the Fallen Gods under their collective belts, they are currently working on a follow up along with Sliptrick Records that will be entitled The Failure of Faith.

“Miscreant Deeds of Loki” is a kickass tune that incorporates a lot of imagery in the video of battle scenes both of death and glory, Viking images and some images of the band. If you are familiar with the Norse mythology of Loki, you will recall him as a trickster god. Loki is known to be playful, malicious and nihilistic...hmm, sounds like many of our world leaders. At any rate, the vocals are devilishly heavy, the riffs lick you sweetly like a serpent's tongue and feverishly fast drumming that is more in the vein of an almost warlike summons. Blood of Angels have certainly captured my attention and I look forward to more.
