Interview with Jenny Teator

By April Lane

Boston Rock Radio

Sizzling the video world with her recent release "Daughter of the Devil" Jenny Teator is finding her edge and grabbing that rock n roll vibe. Her latest is showing the diversity Jenny holds and it looks like she has even more layers to peel back with more releases coming in 2020.

BRR: As you listen to the music coming out today, where do you fit in?

JT: I fit in the alternative rock genre, some pop, some blues. It's really a mixture of all of those influences and putting a modern spin on ALL of them combined together with my vocal making it a brand.

BRR: Talk to us about your current project.

JT: I just released a single called “Daughter of the Devil” along with its music video jj(link below). That was such a fun song to produce and create around! Currently, I’m in the studio recording my next single… so much more to come!

BRR: Overall how was the experience of this single as opposed to the last one?

JT: Each song has been exciting to make but this one definitely had that extra hype for it because naturally, it was the NEXT single I was putting out. It just gets more exciting the more we do! The more I put out the better it gets (at this rate) and we are really creating a sound with each song produced and I love working with Red 13 Studios because they truly bring out the sound I am trying to create.

BRR: Who did you work with on production and recording? How about the video work?

JT: Red 13 Studios based in Framingham, MA. They also produced the music video directed by Jim Foster.

BRR: Are you going to continue to drop singles and work towards an EP?

JT: Yes! I am currently working on the next with three in the vault to finish and add to an EP to release later in 2020.

BRR: How often do you get out and perform live?

JT: Lately, it's been about at least 3 times a week but the other week it was 6 times a week haha. It's not consistent, and every week changes! I’ve been touring a lot the last two months which had shows almost every night of the week. But I would say average 5 times a month which includes in town and out of town shows.

BRR: What so far has been your favorite part of your musical journey and where are you wanting to head next?

JT: I absolutely love the recording process. This is a whole new chapter of my life and the most exciting thing to me is creating art that I care about and sharing it with the world. On the other end of it, among that process, being able to go out and tour with these songs and stories and sharing that through performance in intimate spaces like the house concerts I do and also with a full band is such a confirming and rewarding aspect of it too. Seeing the emotional reaction from an audience based off my song is the best feeling.
