It is always a great pleasure for me to see new metal bands forming in the scene. It means our future looks bright for this ever-changing genre. I would like go introduce Finnish power metal band Metal De Facto. Formed in 2017 by Esa Orjatsalo (ex-Dreamtale) and Sami Hinkka (Ensiferum), they were soon joined by Atte Marttinen (ex-Kivimetsän Druidi), Benji Connelly (Everfrost), Mikko Salovaara (Leverage) and Mikael Salo (Everfrost). Their motto was to make power metal great again and from several listens, the band have wholeheartedly done this. With an album that focuses on the myths and tales of the Roman empire, we are led into a world that we will never know but can indeed imagine about.

I truly believe that the genre of power metal is perhaps the ultimate vessel to capture history within. As vast and epic riffs flow through you, one can envision battles and sieges. Although I am not huge on keyboards, Benji Conelly does a phenomenal job without it being overwhelming or cheesy.  Their first single and video from the album is "The Conqueror" and it is potent. Excellent output for these Finnish metal men.
