Portrayal Of Guilt

Suffering Is A Gift

Closed Casket Activities

Release Date: August 30, 2019

Album Review by Allyson Kingsley

Music Journalist, Boston Rock Radio

From the heart of Texas, Portrayal of Guilt are an eclectic blend of grindcore, punk, and screamo. Having just finished a tour with hardcore giants Harm's Way, as well as Jesus Piece and Fuming Mouth, they have amassed quite a decent following. They have scored #19 on Kerrangs list of the 50 best American hardcore bands and are currently celebrating the recent release of Suffering Is a Gift.

Suffering is a Gift grips you full charge from the beginning notes of "Self-Inflicted." Without missing a beat we cycle through an intensity and almost violently gripping wash through songs like "Dissolution" and "Moral Decay." It comes to a finale with "Merciless," a tough wash over you that plows through your eardrums.

Portrayal of Guilt are taking a very short break before commencing a European tour with Deafheaven and Touche Amore.
