From Orlando, Florida-based three-piece Wake Up Hate comes a strong debut EP that shows off the band’s knack for crafting catchy melodies, and adding their own brand of grit to give their music a hard rock edge. Their powerful, attention-grabbing lyrics and unforgettable choruses are just a few of many reasons to keep Wake Up Hate on your radar this summer.

Vocalist Jake Adkins nails both clean and heavy vocals with precision, with some of his most impressive melodies being in “A New Way to Hate” and title track “Deep Sleep.” They even add in synthy pop sensibilities to some songs (such as “Love Me Like a Hurricane” and “Blind Apologies”) to make Deep Sleep a universally appealing album that can be listened to over and over again. (I dare you to listen to “Over the Edge” without getting it stuck in your head for the rest of the day.)

After releasing this nearly flawless EP as well as a lyric video for “A New Way to Hate,” Wake Up Hate are already garnering quite a bit of media attention and love from fans, with lead single “The Cycle” reaching 60,000 streams in just a few months, and boasting nearly 1,000 YouTube subscribers.

Deep Sleep officially hit shelves on May 17th, and if it’s any indication of what’s to come, Wake Up Hate could quickly become one of this year’s best new rock bands.
