Album Review by Allyson Kingsley, Music Journalist

Boston Rock Radio

In the midst of doing this album review, I check out their website to find out their vocalist Divina has passed away yesterday (March 1, 2019). On behalf of Boston Rock Radio, I extend my deepest sympathies to the band members, her family and friends, and her fans. I was thoroughly impressed by this furious ride of an album that is listed under the genre of crust/d-beat, of which I had no inkling of what it is nor anything to compare it to. And such is the adventure of a music journalist who ventured fearless into other realms.

Wolfsblood hail from Sweden and Vomit and Lice is their debut and it is truly a wonderful beast. With rich punk undertones and Divina's brutal serrating vocals the songs blast you in the face with massive energy that wants to get you in the pit. “Le Trezieme” seriously serves up her vocals that slice right into you in such a devilishly delicious manner.

With an intro almost sounding like it was influenced by Rob Zombie, “On Your Knees” fucking crushes your skull as it erupts into a maelstrom of chaotic power. “Kamagra” is absolutely combustible and I could picture the explosion of dense energy that would erupt in a venue when this is performed. My favorite crusher was “Vengeance” and although now it is haunting due to the circumstances, her vocals really dig deep into the bedlam of your brain.

Vomit and Lice is full of that fresh fire and ardor that is so beloved in our vast and diverse metal universe. I hope in time Wolfsblood heal from their loss.
