Static Tension’s album, Ashes to Animation, is a captivating, euphoric collection of grunge-alternative songs that channels such souls as Nirvana and Alice In Chains.

I found this to be a very chill album. Whether it’s 2 in the afternoon, or 2 a.m., this is the perfect album to sit back and chill to. “Kindling” has a melancholy, somber sound to it that sets the tone for the album.

“Absence” is chilling guitar solo that captivates you. There are no words, you just listen and let it draw you in. Although every song has its own unique characteristics, this was my favorite song on the album. It just relaxes the whole body, the mind, the soul. Each song flows perfectly from one song to the next.

“Bloody Shadow” completes the album and carries the same tone as with the songs that preceded it. A melancholy duet with an Evanescence tone. Appropriately placed as the last song on the album, it leaves you wanting to continue your euphoric journey. I can definitely see this as being left on “repeat” on your playlist.

The album as a whole is an intoxicating collaboration that warms your grunge rock soul.
