Come to Dolly

Desire

Zombie Shark Records

Album Review By Allyson Kingsley

Come to Dolly is:
Nick Blow
Luke Tither
Ben Persen
Chris Smith
Ben “Chalky” Bath

Come to Dolly is an alt-metal band from New Zealand who have signed with Zombie Shark Records and released Desire. The deluxe edition album is 24 tracks (including two bonus tracks) of absolute hard hitting bedlam. Come to Dolly blends a solid dose of crunchy alternative riffs, dramatic arrangements, and a production that demands your attention and never lets it go. Desire has complex structures, dry grooves, bulky riffs and noisy leads. Throughout the album, the vocals are heavily influenced by Deftones. Add elements of electronica and industrial and you have quite a creative mix.

The mood and melody is encapsulated in title track “Desire” with it's dark undertones and yearning vocals. I dig the murky ambience of “Angerfist,” a tone you can feel to your bones. Above all, I would pick “If I Lead You to the Moon,” as it fit perfectly into what has been a rather chaotic time as of late. An ingenious work.
