“The Gravity of Fall” Tour Video

Song/Video Review by Allyson Kingsley l

First of all, a little introduction to Vintersea who hail from the Pacific northwest specifically Oregon. Vintersea is described as a melodic metal band that combine elements of progressive, black, death and post metal into their own unique twist. The band members are vocalist Avienne Kiuttu, axemen Riley Nix and Jorma Spaziano, bassist Karl Whinnery and seated at the drum throne, Jeremy Spencer. Vintersea spent the summer touring with The Anima Effect and The Devils of Loudun during the Summer Prognosis 2018 that covered 2000 miles. Hotkarlproductions was in charge of documenting the footage of their journey and together they created the video for “The Gravity of Fall.”

“The Gravity of Fall” features fun looking footage of their 2000 mile foray covering 3 large states during their summer tour. I am forever a fan of documentaries of what bands do on the road and this song video relays the fun stuff, gig clips and of course the everyday mundane things about touring. There is some nice scenery captures and it seems there were decent swimming holes here and there. The song itself showcases each musician's talent. Avienne can switch over quite eloquently between growling vocals and serenely sweet vocals. The guitarists are masterful and the bass/ drum rhythm is in sync with one another. A very decent tour perspective that doesn't just clam about in typical rocker debauchery.
