Starset - "Die For You" (Acoustic Version)

Song Review

Vessels 2.0

September 28, 2018

By: Tammy Carbonetto

From the upcoming release on September 28th, Starset has sent their acoustic version of "Die For You" into the waves of the masses. As acoustic songs go, it is slowed up for a better lyrical and instrumental focus. It’s a little cleaner from all the extra space-y noises that you can expect to hear from their original release of "Die For You" on the album Vessels. As a Starset fan, we know these extra things give it more of a feeling of what the band is trying to portray. Vessels 2.0 is bringing some magic to the songs we fell in love with the first go round. The acoustic of "Die For You" is a more dreamlike take and pulls at your heartstrings more than the original -- we didn’t even think that was possible! I listened a couple times before I noticed a lyrical slight. In the original we know the lyric line of “even if I have to die for you,” but in 2.0 it is expressed as “even if I die for you.” While it doesn’t change the entire song by any means, it makes it that much more meaningful without the presence of one little word. Intrigued? Give it a listen. It is always appreciative to a fan base to hear a different version of a song so familiar and with "Die For You" they have romanticized an already compelling song. They are a force with such deep content that it truly takes a few listens to get into the thick of it and you’re hooked, singing choruses and feeling the vibe to the future.

See/Listen on their YouTube page for the "Die For You" (Acoustic Version) from Vessels 2.0.
