      Thorium

      Thorium

      Empire Records

      October 5, 2018

      Album Review by Allyson Kingsley

      Boston Rock Radio

      Thorium is:

      David Marcelis - vocals
      Tom Tee - guitars
      Dario Frodo - guitars
      Kurk "Stripe" Lawless - bass
      Louis Van der Linden- drums

The axemen of Ostrogoth apparently had so much material to be realized that added facets of NWOBHM, thrash, speed metal, progressive and power metal that they could not help themselves in enlisting members to create the force that is Thorium. Their self-titled debut album will be available in early October via Empire Records. I can tell you this album is very eclectic and just blends so much metal goodness. Thorium is the type of album that pumped me up to wanting to sack and pillage villages (aye, but I will not). I love an album with such vibrant energy. If you chance to pick apart the album as I am always inclined to do, each musician in and of themselves brandish absolute potent talent.

Be sure to check out the masterful shredding as heard on tracks such as “Icons Fall” and “Godspeed” (see lyric video below).  I enjoyed how “March of the Eastern Tribe” skillfully led up to “Ostrogoth” which is something you would hear if you mixed Sabaton with Iron Maiden. Without further repeating myself, this is the kind of music that moves me to no end. Thorium will be included in my albums of the year list. Brandish those metal horns.
