Album Review by Allyson Kingsley, Music Journalist

      Boston Rock Radio

      Mourn the Light is:

        Dwayne Eldredge: guitarist, vocalist

        Andrew Stachelek: vocalist

        Greg Gates: drummer

        Jorge Vargas: bassist

Mike Kerr: guest guitarist (title track)

Aside from the members being huge supporters of the New England metal scene, Mourn the Light have packed in some sonic delicacies in this EP. Based in Connecticut, the stoner rock/doom metal quartet formed in early 2017. You may recognize the name Dwayne Eldredge as he is a local promoter for SCENE Productions and also plays for Kill the Straggler. This EP Weight of the World was recorded at Project 7:06 Sound Services.

Check out the song “End of Times.” It sounds like quite the little party anthem with its charismatic riffs but the lyrics speak otherwise; “there will be no one left to remember.”  A bit grim but so true. I'm loving this song. Rich deep vocals, voracious drumming and a guest guitarist, Mike Kerr (check him out, shredders) give this doom and gloom gitle track “Weight of the World” an unsettling fierceness. You can literally feel the agonizing weight of this song. Finally we sail into “Embrace the Darkness” as these musicians prove their might and majesty. I am left looking forward to more.
