This was my first foray into the dark synth/synthwave genre of which I knew nothing about. Moloch reminded me of a time in the early 90's where some friends and I ventured into an electronic industrial club somewhere in the bowels of New York City. The music fit perfectly with the strobe lighting in the cement and steel club, not really our scene but nonetheless interesting.  So The Other Side would prove fitting in said club. Darkly gothic, pulsating, writhing through your insides and if you're savvy into dancing so be it.

 

Moloch, aka Fabian Filiks, stems from Poland and is inspired by John Carpenter and the horror/sci-fi realm, blending samples, black metal guitar riffs and vintage synthesizers.  Indeed I could picture The Other Side being played in the backdrop of some Matrix-style movie or an apocalyptic zombie film. Or maybe just cranked up on a good system while blazing through a neon lit city. It's not my usual headbanging affair but definitely created a different kind of electric buzz.
